밴드 ‘권유 (gwon.u)’ 의 첫 번째 싱글 앨범 [Home Sweet Home]
모든 종류의 이별에는 나름의 준비가 필요하다. 어릴 적 둘도 없던 소꿉친구의 갑작스러운 이사처럼, 잘 키우던 강아지가 집을 나가 찾지 못했을 때처럼 예고 없는 이별은 한동안 마음 앓이를 동반하기 때문이다.
내 곁에 언제까지라도 있을 줄 알았지만, 함께 한다는 것이 당연한 줄로만 알았지만 우리는 사실 숨 쉬는 이 순간조차 우리가 사랑했던 것들과 이별하는 중인지도 모른다. 그런데, 준비된 이별이라는 것이 정말로 존재하는 것인지도 모르겠지만…
‘아련하다.’라는 말은 ‘과거‘의 속성이다. 필름카메라로 찍은 빛바랜 사진처럼 낭만과 향수가 공존하는 ‘과거’는 그때는 있었지만 지금은 없는 그 무엇인가로 대변된다. 그 이유로 우리는 좋든 싫든 추억을 가슴에 안고 살아가게 된다.
‘권유‘는 첫 번째 음원 [Home sweet home]에서 그가 사랑했던 과거에 대해 노래한다. 잃고 나서야 보이는, 옛 모습은 더 이상 남아있지 않은, 추억이 야속하게 느껴질 만큼 ‘권유’의 목소리는 너무나도 생생하게 귓속으로 전달되기도 한다. 장르의 경계를 허무는 표현력은 ‘권유’를 듣는 이유가 된다. 그가 직접 스케치한 그림을 통해 곡이 가진 성격과 스토리를 말하는 독특한 방식은, 음악과 어우러질 때 창작의 견고한 근거로 자리를 잡게 된다.
눈을 감고 ‘권유’의 음악을 듣는다면 필름카메라를 감는 기타 소리와 그의 목소리가 우리를 ‘이제는 돌아갈 수 없지만, 눈을 감아도 선명’한 그곳으로 데려다줄 것이다.

For all types of break-ups, we need time to prepare. Whether it is when a childhood friend moves away, or when your dog runs away, unexpected breakups are emotionally painful.
Although I thought that they would always be next to me, and that we would always be together, we could even be breaking up with the people that we love the most, even as we speak. An expected breakup may not even exist.
The faint memories and emotions in your head are all a part of the past. Just like a dim picture captured by a film camera, the romance that once existed is now gone. They represent something that longer exists. Whether we like it or not, we must accept it.
In their first song “Home Sweet Home”, ‘gwon.u’ sings about someone that he had loved in the past. Someone who is seen so clearly, only after having been lost. Someone who is no longer around. These emotions are so vividly delivered, that we can share in the sad emotions of their past.
People listen to ‘gwon.u’ because of their ability to express emotions in a manner that transcends the limitation of genres. The picture that they sketch through their songs are done in a unique manner that enables people to understand the story and emotions behind their musical masterpiece.
Listen to their music while closing your eyes. The sounds of their guitar will feel like to the rewinding sound of a film, and their voice will take you a place that is so vividly clear, but unapproachably far away.
